one more scion hu question

i have read and re-read all the scion hu threads and am still thoroughly confused.

i have an '06 sport with the stock 6 speaker radio.

i cannot tell from the threads whether the scion t1806 or t1807 will retain my steering wheel controls and the aux input without any re-wiring.

also, what is the point with the 2nd antenna input which has to be drilled out on the scion hu. does the 4runner need both antenna inputs.

I used the 1807. Everything continues to work. You do have to drill hte 2nd antenna hole. It takes less than 5 minutes...

It is something called a diversity antenna I believe. There are two different types of antennas located on the rear cargo area windows. One on the passenger side and one on the drivers side (they are not defroster wires) The HU measures which antenna has the strongest signal strength and constantly switches between the two to pull in the appropriate signal (the stronger of the two)
