Those Tundra wheels would be the least of my choice from the selections you mentioned..I vote on Pro Comp flat black 7031's..Congrats and post some pics when the lift and tire/wheel combo's go on.
 
The 7031's are nice, but I don't like the black/chrome look. I've got the 8069's on my 'runner, and if you look around you'll see that the 8069's are becoming more and more common.

If you want your rig to look different, either the tundra wheels or the 7031's would work, but watch the backspacing on the wheels, you'll need 4.5" or less to clear 285's without spacers. The tundra wheels will prob need spacers if you want to run them with 285's... not sure on the 7031's. I got my 8069's with 4" BS, and they fit perfect and allow plenty of clearance between the tire and the upper control arm.

I'm not a fan of spacers, which is a big reason I chose the 8069's.
 
pro comps all the way. i dont think those would look good on a 3rd gen but thats just my opinion. plus with the nittos will compliment the pro comps. if i were u get pro comps..offer 100 bucks for the rims and sell them for 300. 150 is pretty cheap for those
 
I was curious, so I went to ProComp's site and checked out the backspacing on the 7031 series.... these are all the sizes they have (besides 20's) that you can get in a 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern:

15x8, 3.75" Backspacing, these would allow 285's to clear the UCA's but probably wouldn't clear your brake calipers, unless your 'runner came stock with 15" wheels.

16X8, 4.5" Backspacing, these would be ideal. I've heard 285's will clear the UCA with 4.5" BS, but I haven't personally tested it.

17x9, 4.75" Backspacing, definitely gonna need spacers for these...

18x9, 5" Backspacing, definitely gonna need spacers for these...

PS... good idea Bak3rme... if you've got time to flip the tundra wheels, that could be some easy money.
 
Ya i have been looking at rims also and might be picking up a set of 7031s... not too sure but its nice to see them on a 4runner first!
 
thanks for all the replies guys. i'm leaning towards the 7031s as well and yes bigfish, i'd be getting the ideal 4.5 BS 16s in them.
 
You running a risk gettng 4.5" BS with 285/75/16s. If you have A/Ts it's a little less of a risk, but most M/Ts will still not clear the UCAs. The stock alloy wheels are 4.65" BS so 4.5" will only push the tires out .15". That hardly makes any difference. You need at least .25" more clearance than the stock wheels have. I have seen people get 4.5" BS w/ 285s many times and they still do not clear. Do yourself a favor and get 4-4.25" BS.

if your looking at getting new rims I'd consider going with a 17in rim just in case you decide to up grade the breaks to the tundra ones, that way you'll know for sure you got the clearance for the larger calipers without even having to think about it and upgrading the brakes isn't a bad idea when moving to a 285 or larger.

beyond that get the right back spacing and whatever is your "style", get something you'll like as you have to live with it everyday of your life.

personally i hate chrome on 4-runners, the bare alum look,gun metal,flat black or polished black is what looks good to me personally, chromes for the huge/lifted f-150 compensating for something crowd.... my personal fav's are the fj trd wheels or the stock 5 stars

yeah i like the fj trd wheels too, but i can buy these pro comps cheaper anddd it'd be extra to powdercoat the fj wheels bc you can never just find them black.

and yeah man i'll try to meet ya, i'm still in high school however so i could be in school when yall are tearing up the trails.. :ybrick:
