Was working in the yard and decided to look at Craig's list, been a daily chore for the past four months.
I just caught a new listing ( 3 hours ) old and called and went to look. It's a plain Jane 2004 108K miles SR5,
but the good thing was it was the guys father in-laws and he decided to stop driving. He stored it in a garage and
visited Delta Sonic on a regular basis, so the frame was immaculate. I tried to work the number but he was firm at
$6500 and I thought it was a fair deal. The interesting part was looking at his phone lite up while I was there from
people that were interested in real time at looking at it, so my spread sheet was correct, the market is alive and well
for these at $6500 or less with low 100K miles....at this age group ( 2004 - 2006/7 ) in this neck of the woods. FYI

It is a 6cyl. and let me tell you it's a peppy little bugger!

Other than the word success, you didn't really say.....so did you buy it?

My purchase of mine was similar, I didn't really need a another vehicle but I wanted a 4Runner, I looked for close to 2 years, looked at many but didn't like the price or the condition or both, was ready to buy a couple but they were sold before I got there even though I had appointments to look at them and I told them I was ready to buy and had cash if I like what I saw, both sold 1 hour to 30 minutes before each appointment with no call to tell me they had sold and no use driving 30 miles to come and see them, I was more than upset because the owners didn't even call so I wouldn't waste my time going to look at them.

One day at work I just had a feeling and looked on Craig's list on my phone and saw one for sale 35 miles away at a used car lot, I called and it still wasn't sold yet, I called my boss and told him I had to take the rest of the day off, drove over and looked at it, check the VIN history, a 2004 V8 Limited 134,000 miles, $5900, I told the salesman I wanted it and would be back in 15 minutes, went to the bank down the road withdrew cash and went back and did the paperwork handed him the cash and then went home got my son to drive one back and brought it home 1 1/2 hours later!

Yes I did pull the trigger, so you and I need to start panning for some yellow brick road material to pay for the upgrades, lol......That was a great price you got for your's and I had hoped to do the same on this end, but the marketplace is a tough one for these right now....Sooooo I sucked it up and put me monies down.....So let the build begin? Being I wiped my bank account out, may be a while before I do anything with it though? But as you said and I believe at this moment in time, it's best to be without debt on the books.

Hope I can count on your support and the community as to the way forward to a rim / tire solution as this somewhat confuses me as to the rubbing on the front end wheel wells and size configuration / max 2" lift I would like to do.....? I'm looking for an aggressive system in the snow we get in these parts but wish to avoid the Mad Max look....Gray Man if you get my meaning?
