Online tire buyers..where y'all getting them installed?

I heard Costco was a good place but when I spoke to them they said they would only install tires you bought from THEM.

Is there a general consensus on here? I know most discount tire places are going to want to upsell you on their tire installation as well as buying tires for full retail.

If you buy from tire rack they have preferred installers.

Else you take your online price and shop around to have a local shop match it.

My experience is unless you are super picky and finding tire shops that specialize to SCCA or NASA competitors. It is very hard to beat Costco. Costco has $70off or more when you buy 4 tires and they do Michelin who owns BFgoodrich. Which the T4r crowd likes the KO2s.

I have a great independent shop close by that has very reasonable prices. They charged me 80 bucks to dis-mount, mount and balance 4 Wildpeaks I recently ordered online.

Firestone is a good place, and is available nationwide, so if you're on a trip and need support there's a solid chance there'd be one nearby.

But in general, many places will do the installs for you, just won't give a road hazard warranty, so make sure the online retailer provides one.

I've used BB Wheels Online and SimpleTire.com in the past on good deals, and they offer road hazard warranties, though sometimes as short as 2 year.

with them, you can put in your zip and choose what local shop to perform the mounting and install. In my case, its a local shop that has always done well to work on my older cars (wife or daughter) and for tires, no upsell, no 'you need this and that too'...they do exactly what i ask, and call me the minute i can pick it up.

Find a solid local shop. Outside of sale prices during certain holiday periods, my local shop charges roughly the same as tirerack. I think they give me a slight military discount however.

I don't expect anyone here to get tires installed at wal-mart, but for general awareness, they won't install tires that are larger than stock size. So careful with some of the larger name brand places.

I typically buy tires from Walmart.com and have a local shop install them for me. If I pay him cash, he'll mount and balance for $50. It's rare that anyone can beat WalMarts online prices from what I've seen. Tire rack is always the most expensive. I've used discounttiredirect and tirebuyer before when they have coupon codes and rebates with good luck.

Amazon shipped my tires to Quality Discount Tires near my house. Install / balancing, etc cost $117

Another vote for a local place. I took a trailer tire to one here a few years ago and they didn't even charge me. Now I always go there. They are the best.

If you don't have a good one you like then Amazon has recommended installers as well that seem to be cheap. Amazon usually has the best price on tires from what I've found and even cheaper with 5% back if you have the Prime Visa.

I use a local place. My Toyota dealership.

They offer competitively priced mounting with road force balancing. Last set I brought to them after the local Indy shop couldn’t figure out how to properly balance the rims because they didn’t have the right type of adapter for their machine.

I mainly use america's tires for all my cars. Any price you find whether online or local, they'll match or beat it. I like the fact that when needed while on road trips and if anything were to happen, they're in almost every state and city and will fix/repair/replace it (if you have the package).

I used AAA auto care, called them in advance and set it all up. Was not expensive at all and I was happy with the service and they were ready willing and able. Helps that I've taken cars to them for years and I'd assume they pulled up my account when I set up the appt.?

I only buy online if itis a tire I can not resource locally. I have run several sets of Kenda Klever R/T's on my Jeeps and no one sells them locally. I bought from WallyWorld and Discount Tire mounted, balanced, yada. I've used Discount since the late 80's for all my tire purchases. Will you save a few bucks buying online and then finding someone to mount? Sure, but for me, I'd rather support my local businesses.

I found the best price and service at Cassidy tire.

It’s a chain, but just in the Chicago area.

Just Tires wanted $45/tire, and Firestone didn’t want to deal with a heavy M/T tire.

I went with tirebuyer the last several sets of tires and been very pleased with the speed and price. They have preferred installers and have used them with good experiences.
