They fit with no rubbing on the body mount or front fender liner.
The spare is another issue. I was able to shoehorn it in there but with my hitch installed I could only manage ~1/4” clearance with the Swaybar and KDSS cylinder. I guess that means it fits but we’ll see if it rubs anything under articulation.

What size are your previous tires? Curious how you like the handling of the skinny tires vs wide(if you had 285s)
I quite literally just had them installed but they get really good leaving the tire shop . I will definitely update this post when I log some miles. It’s set to rain for the next week and I should be towing my 5k lb travel trailer over some twisty roads by the end of the month.
I was running 265/70r17 BFG K02s in C load for the past 60k miles.

I've been running a 285/70R17, E rated tire in the stock spare location for years with zero issues. There's minimal clearance around it, but it seems to be enough.

we run those in the c rated 34/10.5-17 flavor. they were definitely squirrely for a while/we got used to it compared to e rated 285's. otherwise theyve been great.
do you think one felt more stable or handled better on and offroad? any mpg difference compared to 285's? and do you have any preference between the 2 widths given all factors?

softer offroad. dont look as good as 285. otherwise everything feels the same. oh steering wheel feels easier to turn.

I can’t tell from the pictures, but are you stock otherwise? At least in the suspension/lift/clearance portion.
I’m not. I’m running Dobinson’s IMS shocks and 302/505 springs.
A quick update- it’s only been 2 days but my first impressions are very positive. I’ve driven some freeway and around town miles in rainy wet weather for the past two days. The tires have not slipped yet and have tracked very well in both environments. There hasn’t been enough standing water to comment on hydroplaning at this point. I’ve also had them on a bit of gravel and they hold/throw way fewer rocks than my KO2s did. Braking does feel a bit more labored but I’m not certain yet if that’s the tires or if I’m looking for a negative.
Also, I was worried they’d look funny as this is my first set of tall skinny’s but I think they look great. They fill up the wheel well nicely, add sidewall, and fit the factory rims without contacting the UCAs. A win win.

255/80's are the best tire size!
The close-up photo above is at/near full lock. There’s quite a bit of clearance at that point while on flat ground. I’ve tried to flex out the suspension a bit but have not yet been able to fully compress my front end while turning. I’ve turned at full lock in both directions while driving forward and in reverse over uneven ground and have not yet found any rubbing.
Do you have personal experience with these tires and rubbing? What was your experience?

with stock offset wheels you can fit easily fit 33's. the 34x10.5's we run have more clearance then the 285/70-17's (we rub sometimes but thats due to 1.25" spidertrax adaptors.)
265/70R17 = 31.6”
255/80R17 = 33.06”
33.06 - 31.6 = 1.46”
1.46”/2 = 0.73” taller
Some variance between tire makers so it may be a little more or less than ~3/4 inch.
We just finished our first road trip with the new tires. Here is the data:
Tow vehicle- 2013 4Runner TE
Trailer - Taxa Mantis (~5,000 lbs and 500lbs tongue weight)
Miles driven - 1,710 over numerous mountain passes between WA and CA (no correction made for increased tire diameter)
Gallons of gas - 150.73
MPG - 11.34
That is about 1 MPG less than a similar road trip we took this summer when I was running the stock size KM2s (C load).
