Opinion on Backup Camera (PICS)

Hey guys. As some of you know, I have been working on installing a totally custom backup camera. I decided to use an aftermarket, larger camera than the one that is used on some of the Limited Models. The one I am using is much larger because it has 9 Infrared LEDs for 20+ feet of night vision. Anyways, Im gonna post some pics. This is a temporary setup. I basically just have the camera stuck into the tailgate. I just wanna know what you guys think of the color. I have the choice of the silver color that the pcp pipe is originally (see pics), or a flat black can of spray paint that I have (maybe someone can photochop it black to help? ). Thanks, and any and all input is appreciated as usual.

PS Yes I know my 4R is filthy, its been raining here for about 2 weeks straight.

What color? I am assuming by the name that it is a paint that will perfectly match the 4R??

I'm finally going to add the eclipse 105 camera to my system.

In the rear hatch area how did you get the wire into the truck from under the license plate, is there already a big enough hole?

How did you get the wire from the plastic cover on the hatch up to the top of the roof line past the window?

Once to the roof liner did you run it all the way forward down the A pillar or go down to the tail light compartment and then along the door sills?

Both wires for the camera are run directly into the plastic lift gate on the back (where the camera is mounted). First off, you have to take the plastic cover off the inside of the tailgate. To do this, you need to take the smaller plastic cover that is part of the cloth handle for the tailgate. Next, you will use a 10mm wrench (keep this around, as it is used for nearly all bolts on this truck) to remove the bolt under this plastic. After that is out, you can simply pop the plastic cover off slowly and carefully. It will have to be pushed up towards the spoiler to fully get the thing off. Now that the cover is off, you need to remove 6 more nuts. There are the 2 on the left side that are spaced out about 8 inches or so. Then there are the 2 that hold the key reciever into place, and then there is one directly to the right of the key reciever. You should now be able to pop the plastic lift gate off. Be gentle as always. Now what I did was I ran the wires across the plastic lift gate, and through the rubber grommet that is already in place for the other wires. Once inside you are going to need to run the wires down the left side of the tailgate, along the pre existing wires. This is BY FAR the hardest part (atleast for me). I strongly suggest using a lead wire such as strong metal piano wire or such. Try to get this wire down to the area where at the bottom left of the tailgate where the wires come out of the tailgate. Once you get the lead wire through, attach the other end of your wires to the lead wire, and simply pull them through. you can then run the wires through the rubber casing that is around 7 inches long, and down into the headliner. From here, I ran the wires across the headliner to the small speaker in the top corner. I then ran the wire down to the little rectangular door that opens up to show the back of the tailight. I of course used a lead wire for all of this running. Be warned, I have done a fairly large amount of wire running, and I can say that this pathway is probably a 8 out of 10 in difficulty. It will require a large amount of patience, but is definitely doable. Ill post some pics for you, and good luck
