Opinions needed on purchase

Hey all, been lurking on here for a while and wanted your opinions. There's a 2002 runner sr5 4wd with 25k miles on it at a local carmax. They want 16k+ ttl. I looked up on kbb and they said 13800. What do you think?

Wow, that's some pretty low mileage.

As for the asking price, it depends. Does the interior and exterior look like how it should for a 25k vehicle? If it was completely flawless, I would say around $15k, or at least that's about how much a truck like that would probably go for around my area. If everything looks good on it, I would go for it, but try to talk them down and see how much they are willing to drop the price.

I would take the kbb printout and offer them that and no more. 25K is unheard of for an '02 though so if they are willing, grab it!

It sounds like a creampuff, but they're trying to take your head off (meaning a HUGE front end profit)....

If possible, find out why the mileage is so low, whether it's local trade, was ever used as a rental, or if they picked it up at auction. Carfax will show you this...

Unless you have to have it, don't pay a premium for the low miles only...there's plenty of these with decent mileage at a better price...

I picked up a gem...

I saw the sale ad last night and bought it this morning...Ive been looking for a 02' for a while. Could not let this one pass me by.
Its in perfect condition, its a 10 inside and out. I tested the 4WD. It all works well. I traded my 06 Sport 2WD for this truck. Ive always liked the 3rd gen. Runners...

Looks the same as the truck I bought out of the Seattle area (but the truck is from PA) a couple of weeks ago. 25K miles....wow. Mine had 92K.

Was that $18,500 after taxes? the original poster said it was $16K.
