Opinions on painted stock Sport rims.

I would love to get new rims but that is not in the mix right now plus my tires are still OK. With that I was thinking about painting my stock rims to change it up a bit but didn't want to go the standard all black so I came up with this. This is obviously my truck when stock but it's the best picture I could find to photo chop. I blacked out the rear tire as currently I have no lettering exposed and plan on doing a Plasti Dip Gunmetal Grey instead of black. So what are your thoughts?

I had that same idea, as well as blacked out center caps too.

Of all of the ones I was testing with for my stock Sport Edition, these 3 got the most votes. Note that 1 is an exact negative of what you did...

its your rig, so its ultimately your decision. do what'll make you happy, cause you'll be the one looking at it on the regular. for these cosmetic changes, i dont really find getting an opinion really useful since its all about the driver's taste. what someone says looks ugly may be the coolest thing ever to somebody else. its all a matter of your preference.

Having used both, i'd personally recommend going with black plastidip with metalizer over the gunmetal. I wasn't a big fan of the color of the gun metal when I used it on my bumper center section

I love the gun metal SE rims though, I miss my old ones often.

You can see both colors in this picture although both appear a little darker than they actually are in this. Bumper center is gun metal PD, wheels are black with metalizer. Bonus - the skid plate is DupliColor graphite wheel paint.

That is what I had on for 2.5 years, I really liked it and will either go back with that or with anthracite grey plasti-dip, I agree with Matt, the gun metal plasti doesn't look so hot! Dipyourcar.com has the anthracite and it looks great.

I was on the fence of this or hammered gray paint. I went with the hammered gray. I really like these rims in a dark color. I black plastidipped the center caps and painted the toyota emblem an aluminum color.
