Opinions on Revtek lift

I love mine, rides just like stock - possibly a hair stiffer, which with my non-XREAS is perfect. Easy to install, frankly they should come this height stock :)

I ahave had them in for about 1500 miles, seems extremely durable, I know others have wheeled with these spacers in 4th gens for quite a while now.
 
Did you replace any shocks when you lifted your 4runner? I know the kit comes with longer rear shocks, but did you replace the front shocks?
 
I love the Revtek lift, and the ride after it. It is very durable, of course, and I actually like the ride better than stock.

You don't need to replace the shocks. If you have xreas, you can't replace them anyway, but if you don't have xreas, you can use the longer rear struts that come with the kit.
 
revktek or daystar (both spacer technology) works well. You really can't go wrong with either setup.

Revtek comes w/ rear replacement shocks while Daystar does not.

There are no manufacturers that have front replacement shocks yet. This will be months if not a year until replacement shocks are available (non oem).

If you're just looking for lift it alittle and don't plan on doing any hardcore offroading, then either one of these spacers will work wonders. Easy to install since you don't have xreas either. With limited skills (I mean real limited) you can do it yourself. You can have some supervision and the installation will be even easier. Just couldn't get any easier than that :)

and why won't they be good for hardcore offroading?
 
Indeed it is challenging but it is a relatively easy installation. That's all :) Just need some power tools to get ya thru the hard parts and all is good especially w/ the write up you have!!!

Biggest limitation is the lack of articulation due to the limitation in the travel of the stock shocks. So just cuz you have more height between the ground and the bottom of the lowest point of the belly doesn't mean you can do more than what meets the eye.

You have to be able to carry thru the tires by getting good articulation and traction. No traction means you're really going no where :)

You'd want to get more travel which gives you better contact on whatever surface you are terraining.
 
Hardcore would be those that are willing to take their trucks to the next level. Expect body damage minimum and expect to get stuck period. Also taking it places where a normal person wouldn't even think about taking it ;)

I doubt heavily that none of us are hardcore enough with the limited accessories out there. I don't even classify myself as hardcore because I've seen some crazy stuff and I know I'm not even close to that. I would think that most of are mild offroaders / weekend warriors :)

Indeed the 3" of lift does help get around some trails but keep in mind that the stock 4runner can still get ya pretty damn far :) Just abit more bumps and grinds here and there compared to the 3" of lift.

Don't forget it's 90% driver and 10% vehicle. As long as the driver is capable of driving their vehicles to the limit, they can go pretty darn far.

You're local to daystar, you should give them a call directly.

They might be able to sell ya a set if not, there are stores locally in AZ that'll be able to help ya out.

Also try xtreme offroad (xtremeoff-road.com) they've sold alot of stuff to alot of the members here and on other forums. Mike is the owner and he's also a member here so you can pm him directly if you would like.

btw, he's pretty busy so don't get all worked up because he's taking awhile to get back to ya. (warning) :)
