Hi All! I just purchased a 2006 T4R --- we're stoked!!! I want to put an aftermarket NAV/DVD system in it ... I think I've narrowed it down to 2 choices, but I'm certainly open for suggestions. Given these 2 options, or your own idea ... Which would you go with it?

Kenwood DNX9960 or the Pioneer AVIC-z120bt?

I've searched the site and haven't read opinions on this, so I'm asking each you now ... Thanks in advance!

Kenwood fan

I don't know specifics about the Kenwood DNX9960 and nothing about the AVIC, but I totally love my Kenwood DNX8120 in my 2006 T4R. If the 9960 comes close in performance, I would not hesitate to go Kenwood again.

Pioneer FTW.

My top choices (was Eclipse), now just Pioneer and Apline.

There's avic411.com for Pioneers.

I would get the Pioneer since I'm big on SQ. Plus, the avic iphone feature where you can plot directions on your phone, plug it into the avic and it will send the directions to your GPS. In addition, the new UI is freakin' awesome for navigating through music if you have a large amount like I do with my 80gb ipod.

Keep in mind, I'm telling you all this and I don't even own the HU. I bought my Alpine a year and a half ago so the 120 was not out yet.

That all said, the Kenwood's Nav is Garmin based and that may be a deal breaker for some. I would give the 120's a look at too as they implemented some 3D nav features too.

I too was looking at a new HU. Did all the researching I could and I'm ordering the Pioneer Avic z120bt. I found it new for $900 and I couldn't pass it up. My second choice was the Pioneer Avic x920bt then Kenwood. All items should be coming in this week so I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions.
