4Runner brothers and sisters, you all know our love runs deep for our rides. This is why I need guidance.
I am wanting to install fox coilovers on my runner. I can't decide if I want to lift or not. I don't see any challenging trails so the lift would be mostly for looks. Plus I am anal about my speedometer and tach being accurate and I know there aren't any tuners to calibrate speed or anything. Anyway, if I don't do a lift, would it be like a 5100 now? Coilovers, struts, and rear FJ springs and I'm good to go?
That brings me to my second need for opinions.
I've been playing with the idea of a URD supercharger for my 4.0L along with the suspension mods. But when I consider what I'm thinking, we are talking a lot of money on a 179,000 mile vehicle. Don't get me wrong I know very well if I take care of it 300,000 is not unreasonable..But throwing a blower on something just shy of 200,000 for extra power I mean...I'm all for the Clarkson "MORE POWER" mindset but it makes me think, should I just get a V8 with lower miles and do the suspension mods to it? I love my 4Runner. Honestly is probably my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I'm just having trouble justifying major mods with this many miles. I know both engines are great, plenty of power etc. Not trying to start a motor debate. I guess I'm just curious what others would do or if I'm over thinking all of this. As my 4Runner family I know you guys are the ones to go to for guidance.
