Optima yellow top or....

I got almost all of the stuff in the mail for the dual battery setup. I still need a good house battery (I am keeping the starter battery for now). I hear optima sucks now but don't know for sure. I also heard oddessy is a good brand. Suggestions?

I've heard through the grapevine Optima is not the same as they used to be - but I have no proof.


I've had an Energizer brand battery on my rig the past 3 1/2 years with a subwoofer - always listen to music with truck off. Recently I put a winch on, and to this day no issues.

It's been awesome. Will run my fridge for days and start the truck right up. I'm sure this company makes smaller sizes as well. Plus, 4 year replacement warranty...

I've had many Optimas. The first one's easily lasted over 5 years. The last two I bought didn't make 3 years.

Odyssey batteries are pretty awesome, but the price reflects that.

Yellow top is better then red. I went with red. So far so good. If it dies I'll get yellow.

yup i wouldn't recommend the new optima's... have owned many as well, first ones were great, sadly same cant be said for the new ones.
