Option: Side signal mirror upgrade

Well, I'm getting another day closer to ordering a 2006 Sport V6, and it's time for another question. Does anyone know if I get the "side signal mirror upgrade" will the mirrors still be color matched to the vehicle, or will they be black or something like that? Also, will they still be heated? I asked the salesman, and he said they should be. Well yea, I agree, they should be, but are they? I could tell he was guessing.

Also, anyone with this option, do you like it? I'm thinking it will cut down on the statistical chances of having an accident, and if it prevents one (even small) accident where someone tries to occupy the same lane I'm changing into, it will be worth it.

he has them with the heated option

To avoid any confusion, to the best of my knowledge this doesn't add heat capability to the mirrors, there are simply two different versions of signal mirrors, one for the factory heated mirrors, and one for the non-heated.

A better link (so you don't have to go through all the drop down lists on the left; non-heated mirros)

Non-heated

I've been looking to add this to mine, but i'm curious as to what the orange LED's look like (there is also a red option). There aren't any pics of it on the site, and I personally feel like orange would look better with the 4runner.

I interested in finding out what the configuration would be like if the port or dealer added them to a new vehicle. I'm not much of a do-it-yourselfer since I don't have a garage or a place for many tools. The option is listed at $399 (I forget if that is invoice or MSRP) so I need to make a decision of whether or not this will be worth it. I don't live where I need the heated mirrors now, but may move in the future. But if they are not color matched I probably won't get them. So I'm hoping that when the dealer does this it doesn't replace the mirror assembly that comes with the vehicle, but that it changes the workings inside the mirror assembly sort of like a kit does.

Anyway, if no one knows for sure I'll try another dealer or call Toyota and see if they can answer the question. Thanks for the replies so far.

Muth is the company that sells the glass that you can switch out that has LEDs embedded for turn signals. Only thing changed is the glass, not the enclosure..

The heated goes typically for 220-250 while the non heated are a little cheaper. If you go with the Sport Edition or the Limited, the glass is heated as well as the enclosure paint matched. The SR5 is a duller black plastic.
