I do not believe you will feel a difference. It is very early for a plug change.

I dont remember the actual part number but if you go to either
www.ngk.com or www.sparkplugs.com
they will lead you through to find the plug. NGK.com is really nothing more than an extension of Sparkplugs.com so take your pick on what site you want to try first.

I was looking at the factory service manual for my 03 sport. I read the spark plug section and according to this thing we are suppose to replace the spark plugs every 12,000 miles!! I have 24,000 miles!!
It says that you are to check the gap every so often. If the gap is greater than 1.3 mm, replace them. It also says that we are to never gap the used spark plugs. We do set the gap on the new plugs. I believe it was 1.1 mm.
You know what, I just noticed that you have the 05. Why are you replacing the plugs? Although, these specs are probably the same. Anyone have thoughts?

Just about every spark plug made today comes gapped correctly. Years back, you always had to gap them yourself. I still check before installation, but it

30K is about where you want to swap iridium plugs and about 60K for platinum...although they are said to be good till about 100K miles on the plats.
I dont see how toyota who is known for durability could go ahead with plugs that need to be changed every 12K miles..thats just crazy to me.

I knew it didn't sound right. But, I was surprised. Found in chapter 18 page 3, it has some notes at the top of the page.
1. Never re-gap a used spark plug.
2. Never use wire brush to clean the plug.
3. Spark plug should be replaced every 12,000 miles.
This information pertains to the 2UZ-FE engine. There is an inspection procedure for the plugs as well, but I'm assuming that this is needed every few thousand or something.
Do any of you guys have the FSM? If so, check it out. I'm just reporting what the manual says. I do hear what you guys are saying about the plugs.
