Ordered 4Runner last Tuesday; Still Waiting...

Ordered an '06 Sport Edition V8 4x4 last Tuesday. Shadow Mica with sunroof/leather and a few smaller options. I am lurking on this site while I wait for the dang thing to arrive at the dealer. Lots of great information here.

This is my first car purchase, so I'm pretty pumped. I am currently in a '98 V8 2WD Tahoe and drove a '91 V6 2WD Ford Explorer before that. So, I'm used to driving SUVs, but I'm really looking forward to having a 4x4 for the first time (as well as a sunroof).

Hope to post some pics soon and I'll probably have a lot of questions along the way...

The good news is if it's just a different color or package than what the dealer has and your configuration is what your region normally carries, the wait wouldn't be too long.

On the other hand, if you're trying to get a configuration that's different than what your region normally carries, it'll be awhile. In the mean time, just keep browsing T4R.org for mod and accessory ideas. That's what I did while twiddling my thumbs for three months on mine.

You'll love the 4Runner.

I ordered my truck Dec. 20th.... It is supposed to arrive this week. My order was different than anything I could find on the lots, so I went with a special order from the factory.

If you get an unusual configuration that can't be located in your region, it has to be made overseas. Then you're looking at a 120 day wait, according to Toyota. I've been waiting over 130 days and still counting. Good luck!

The salesman gave me the impression that there were some fairly local that he could acquire and that it would not be very long, but I have had a hard time tracking him down since. I sure hope I am not having to wait 120 days; that would really be the pits. I am cursing everytime I see a 4Runner right now cuz I want to be in one, too...

Ordered mine Nov. 10th, arrived at port Feb. 7th or so, took delivery Feb. 19th.

I'm in CA, so it might be faster because I'm closer to port vs. inland states.

actually, i'm waiting for a sport v8 shadow, 4x2, sunroof, no JBL, leather, spoiler.

Dealer told me it was in route to port when he located it for me...was supposed to be in port around the 12th of april, and reach me around 25th....still waiting. Worst of all, the financing incentive is over, I told him thats a deal breaker for me, but he says he'll still be able to give me the incentive (we'll see :bash: )

Found out today that it will hit port on the 12th. I should be able to drive it off the lot by about the 17th or so.

FYI, the incentive has been extended until the end of May now. That would have been a dealbreaker for me, too.

BTW, my dealer told me that there are not a whole lot of Shadows and that they get allocated pretty quickly.
