Ordered JVC's KW-XR610

I already have a Garmin I don't use that often, and right now I have the stock (read: non JBL) system, so I didn't splurge for a HU w/NAV

So I ordered the JVC KW-XR610 from Crutchfield

It's a double DIN, AM/FM/CD Player, you can plug your iPod or iPhone for more tunes, you can burn your MP3 and WMA files to a disc or load them on a USB thumb drive ... comes with two sets of preamp outputs, has the multi color face option, so it should look somewhat like the stock dash light / orange glow colors

I added the a Sirius satellite radio tuner / interface, so it will all be run thru the HU, and I bought the steering wheel audio controls adapter, so that should still work

HU is on backorder, but I should have it in a couple of weeks, when I'll post more pics

Never owned JVC before, but heard several peoples opin ions and read a lot of good buyer reviews, so keeping my fingers crossed

I've had 2 JVC's in the past in different vehicles and both of them were excellent head units. That JVC you ordered looks nice. I just ordered a pioneer avh-p4300dvd and will be installing it in two days. I tend to change them out frequently. Hope you enjoy yours!

Hey yea I got it installed a few days ago! sorry i didn't get back to you sooner. I just took a pic with my phone so sorry for the quality and glare. I'll try and take some better ones of the HU and my amps under the seats soon. I really like the head unit. Best one i've had so far. Ipod and USB interface is very good.

I nabbed a factory refurb off of ebay for $126 shipped last week. I am very impatiently awaiting it's arrival today. Gonna throw it in my 2000 SR5. I wanted something that would look as OEM as possible but didn't want to spend $4-500 on a touch nav/dvd unit (my Droid X takes care of all that!). This will hopefully satisfy my needs. The double din just looks so fantastic and the fact that you can change the colors to completely match your interior is amazing. WINNING. Not to hijack your thread or anything, but I would like to post pics of it when I'm done installing...if that's alright with you?

no problem !~

Yeah, I found a factory JBL refurbished setup and was about ready to buy it, but someone here said it won't work in my non JBL factory setup ...

Looking forward to your pics ~

Sorry for the dirtiness...haha.

I am IMPRESSED with this thing so far. It sounds SO much better than the factory HU and amp (I have mad respect for Toyota engineering, but the fact that they couldn't fit the amp into the humongous factory HU is beyond me). Anyways, it brought the factory speakers to life! On top of that, it looks pretty clean.

I didn't hook up the auto antenna because I have heard this unit activates it when it's turned on (regardless of use of radio).

Right now I have it set to green to match the dash lights, but when I change all of my lights to white LEDs it will either be white or blue...maybe a mix of both...because it will do that, haha. I also plan on getting the Bluetooth adaptor for it so that I can wirelessly stream Pandora through my speakers. I will probably never use the CD player.

I will post some night pics later on this evening.

Thanks. It will look a lot better in your 2008 because of the aesthetic upgrades in newer models...the newer Yota interiors look like space ships haha.

Overall, I think you will love it. It really does sound great and looks great as well.

Yeah, it's got about 4 or 5 different shades of the orange/amber color that will match the newer Toyotas pretty perfectly. I believe JVC states that it has like 30,000 different color combinations.
