Ordered Zaino's, have a question.

So I just ordered everything from Zaino's that I need to get started. ZFX, Z-2, Z-5, Z-6, their applicator pads, and also their Z-PC (fusion) in case I need a little more bite to take out my swirls. With the $8.95 shipping it came to the $92.00 range.

I'm hoping it will be a huge difference compared to Mother's.

I have one question though. I've heard tons of stories about micro fiber towels being very unpredictable, with many that scratch your paint. A lot of people have suggested using 100% cotton towels that are made in the U.S.A.

Does anyone have any suggestions/tips about what to use, where to buy them, how much, etc.......? Thanks.

Yeah I read all of that, that's why I was curious if anyone actually prefers the cotton towels over the microfiber. I know MF towels have strands that are hundreds of times finer, so even if you get a bad one, i'm not sure how it would be worse than cotton.

The way to test a microfiber towel is to rub it against a CD, if any fine scratches occur then don't use it on your car. I use microfiber towels with my Zaino. Works great! If you follow the Zaino directions carefully in preparing your paint surface you will be impressed with the shine, smoothness, and durability of Zaino products. Take a look in Autopia forum for any other details, just do a search. You won't be disappointed.

Those posts were from like 2 weeks ago. I have since washed it with dawn, and applied 2 coats of Z5 and 1 coat of Z2 on the first day. Then about a week later I put another coat of Z5 followed by Z2 again, using Z6 spray after each coat of course. With 3 coats of Z5 and 2 of Z2 so far, it looks nice. I like. I just use a big 100% cotton towel, made in USA. I was nervous about using something other than microfiber at first, but it works great.

I also started using Mr. Clean Autodry Carwash, so as I keep adding new coats of Zaino's to hide swirls and give it depth, I am not adding any new swirls from drying.

It doesn't dry as perfectly as they advertise, but I suspected that before I bought it. I just had to touch up a few spots. With your lighter color it will probably work great though.

I bought some really nice 100% cotton towels from Kohls. They worked great when i used the Zaino on mine. If i recall right they were about $10 a piece and i bought two or three. This was for a very large size towel as well. Seemed a little larger than a normal bath towel.

If you find any way to speed up the process im all ears as mine took basically all day to wash and apply two coats of the polish. The finish was GREAT afterwards though. I have never found a product that gave me a finish like that before. My 4runner is black and at night it was like a mirror reflecting everything around it on the body panels. Not reflecting as in getting light in your eyes but looking good. I used the clay bar as well.
