Original alternator at 185k miles possible?

Mine is still going strong at 242k, along with no skid plate underneath and no splash guards in the wheel wells for a long time as well.
I also did the voltage mod to get an extra .5 to 1 volt to my odyssey battery. Puts out 15v when cold and 14v when warmed up.

Replaced alternator (Denso), serpentine belt (Bando), and valve cover gaskets (stone) @323K miles... I am the 2nd owner just over 100K miles myself...
From the looks of the belt, and gasket I'd say original, guessing alternator is too...

Yes it's possible to be the original. Might be worth getting a Scan Gauge or Ultragauge to keep an eye on alternator voltage output.

The '03 crapped out around 260k with mixed driving.

Most of the alternator failures are due to brushes wearing out. I recently replaced mine with an OEM set that I got at the dealer for about sixteen bucks as a PM action. It was an easy job, and after seeing how much black dust fell out when I removed the old brushes after 130K miles, I was happy to have a brand new set installed. My voltage monitor is constantly 0.2 to 0.3v higher than it was before the brush replacement. I'll keep doing that until the bearing goes out. Give it a shot, and you may have many more years left in the original alternator.

Is it possible to replace the brushes with the alternator still installed?

No, you need to remove the rear cover and then take out two tiny screws that secure the brush holder. No chance doing it blind.

323K miles, I believe my alternator was original... Denso replaced with Denso 210-0541

Well finally fight, the alternator bolts off... More PB and a breaker bar... Got new on (Denso), rerouted the belt... But I knew battery was too low to start, so put on a portable starter for some extra juice, but wanted to start it on its own... BAM, good to go... RAN last 30mins just fine, no battery light. revved RMPS to 2k twice... Idle is good...
So alternator, valve cover gaskets and serpentine belt, DONE....✔

Very possible. I've had plenty of cars who's alternators are still chugging along at the 150k mark.

The OE alternator on the FJ I used to own stopped making sufficient voltage to even run the engine at 105k miles. I'm assuming it's the same part as the T4R.

The Denso alternator on my 2001 Lexus IS300 was working strong at 290,000 when I sold it last March. Dont let mud plug it up and theres no telling how long it can last.
