Other roof rack options?

Does anyone know if the Rola is the only "cheap" rack that will sit in between the factory rails? Any other generic roof baskets that will fit down between the factory rails for a lower profile stance?

Some of the other inexpensive racks I see don't have the Rola's "lower" fore-and-aft support bar, which is neccessary in order for the AOR kit to work.

This is what I'm talking about:

Here's a link to the Curt rack. You can see it does have the lower support bar, so it might work, as long as it's the correct width between the rails:

The Highland might work as well, as it also has the neccessary frame:

This one, however, will not work, at least not without a lot of fabricating:

The Yakima Load Warrior and Mega Warrior also seem to lack the design to work with the AOR kit:

So the short answer is, there are other racks that might work with the AOR kit but until someone tries them out, we don't know.

I have the curt rack, got a great deal on it with the extension on craigslist.

The curvature of the roof isnt really noticeable to me, but at the same time I think a flat rack, rather than curved/contoured, works better for me for the stuff I put on it simply because I strap down some rigid objects that are flat and not curved.

I always thought this was a cool option:

Although scalable, I don't see living with the lights sitting up that high. Talk about never getting into the garage!
