other sunroof noise

i am getting an annoying rattling noise from my sunroof every time i drive down the highway with the sunroof open. i discovered that the cause of the noise is the sunshade which flaps up and down, resulting in an incessant rattling noise. this seems to differ from the problem that others have had which resulted in the tsb. anyone else notice this? anyone resolve it?

yes, i had this. the dealer put some filler in there to make it quitier, and i don't think i've had a problem since. find a way to put some kind of strip of filler in there to decrease movement. i assume you are sure it is this and not the other rattling others have heard including myself? good luck!

Maybe wind deflector malfunction

gonzo, have you considered a malfunction of the wind deflector as the source of the problem? Maybe if the deflector is staying all the way up at highway speeds it's causing the rattle. The deflector is supposed to retract partway (it's motorized and you can hear it when it does) at highway speeds. I think the retraction speed is something like 50 mph when speed is increasing. Then it's supposed to extend when you drop below 35 mph or something like that. I believe the actual speeds are in the operating manual.

I think you're right that this isn't the rattle that the TSB is designed to cure.

sunroof noise - other

I'm having the same problem. It rattles when I have the sunshade open (with the sun roof closed).

Never a noise never a leek and it has over 27,000 miles on it as of now .
