Our 96 Runner - Accident July 1st

Some jerk turned left into traffic...leaving no where for the 4R to go. Sucks!!! The truck was running great and had gotten to 220k so far. I wanted the vehicle to make it to 300k. Stupid lamea** careless drivers. I don't know what is going to happen with our 96 runner. Haven't heard if it will be totaled. I hope they don't but it doesn't look too good. :nono: This whole mess will probably get sticky with lawyers. UGH!

Warning: These pics may make you cry...the 4Runner has looked better. I didn't take these pics and they are not the like the ones I like to take while 4wheeling/traveling that so many of you have made nice positive comments.

Notice the driver of the FORD (literally found on roadside dead this time) has a "how's my driving sticker" Obviously it wasn't safe to turn left. Yes those are BRAND NEW 32" TA/KOs only a couple of months old. I just put a brand new stereo in the truck for Dave with everything from XM Radio, HD radio, DVD Player....and I just replaced the damn power antenna last weekend and fixed the cruise control. I am so ANNOYED!!! UGH! I wish it had been my 07....my bull bar would have handled it well and the my 4Runner would have been fine.

Well look on the bright side your ok and the 4runner landed a big punch on the dumbass that hit you. I'll bet 20 bucks he shit his pants. maybe the 3rd gen can be a full trail rig now

For the record I wasn't driving. I had been at work since 6am and got a phone call around 7:45am...all I knew was that he had cuts and swelling and the truck wasn't drivable. Great way to scare the .... out of someone. I got there as quickly as I could but both vehicles had already been towed. All I had seen until today was the photos Dave took. He isn't A-OK but thankfully he is OK.

Do what I did when we wrote off the Sequoia in an accident. Go to the pound, ask them to take off the tires and put on your old ones. They don't even have to put them on properly. Just make sure they take it off and put the old ones back on. I paid the guy $150 and he was happy. But I saved a lot more money than buying another set for the GX we were getting. I use the old "new at the time Toyo A/T" tires from the Sequoia as my winter tires now on the GX....my 2 cents.

The second I saw that sticker (before getting to your description), I wanted to say, we should call the number and say how unsafe that vehicle was operated.

People are knuckle heads and don't know how to drive.

I hope everything gets sorted out quickly and painlessly.
 
Holy shiz man, well, I gotta say congrats for whammin the ^$@^ outa that truck lol and thats ironic about the "How's my driving sticker" on it when it's flipped on its' side.

BUT, defiantely salvage everything you can off the truck if it gets totalled.
If not, have that guys insurance pay for a repair/new runner.

Did you say the driver of the Ford died?? I thought that sentence was confusing...but it still sounds like you said they found him dead on the roadside......

No the SOB didn't die....it would have been be one less moron on the road.

I am guessing you never heard the old joke:
FORD=Found On the Roadside Dead

This is from a time when Ford made cars that were less than reliable. I used to own a Ford and kept it for almost 170k....they make decent and even some good stuff now. Still though it's not a 4Runner ;)
