Hey all,

My fiance just bought a 2006 Highlander V6. We are very excited about it. It is just so smooth and quiet. My fiance is already pressuring me to find a forum for her to participate in!:D She loves it and want to learn more stuff about it. I now have a Toyota SUV in my garage whenever she stops by.:)

Did i tell you that she loves it! Do you guys know of any good Highlander forums?? I am gonna give Gatorgreg a call to see if he can find me a good forum...she really wants to participate!

Thai, tell your Fiance Congrats from a forum member!

Although, I am a little dissapointed with you Thai. I mean, how could you let her get a Highlander when YOU know she will be better in a 4R? What do you have to say at that? Is it at least 4wd?

I guess I always see the Higlander like the female side of the 4R, and the grillguard looks nice.

Thanks...she appreciates it. It is V6, but 2wd. Safety-wise, it does come with VSC, TRAC (front axle), and side-curtain airbags.

She HATES driving my G...too heavy-feeling for her and she does not like to climb up it. She does not like the ride & noise in my Corolla. She does not want to get something that will drink a lot of gas...she is in heavy traffic everyday. But, she wants a SUV...like the high seating. And the last time (first & last time) she went off-roading with me, i had to listen to her for 30 min afterwards about how stupid it was to destroy my Mercedes. So, needless to say, she is not an off-roading chick.

So, it came down to the Highlander. We did briefly think about the Honda CRV. The Highlander is well-proven in it's reliability and durability...a "Camry on high heels." It is a Toyota...nothing more to say.:) It is so quiet inside and smooth riding. And, to top it off, we got a really good deal on it...about $100-200 below invoice with 3.9% APR over 5 years (zero down).
 
Thai, Congrats. I am sure she will love it for its car like feel as appossed to the 4Runner. I got a good little kick out of this.

My wife and I had a Highlander, however once I got rid of my Corolla and got my 4Runner, it was not long after that she wanted a 4Runner.:D "She said the Highlander is too small and too much like a car, so we need to get another 4Runner" and that is when I said " I Love You!" :rocker:

Oscar...she's a keeper. You're a very lucky man. On an off chance, does she have a twin sister???;):
 
Nice Highlander! I seriously considered one when I bought my 4Runner. The ride is amazing on them.

Are you sure it's a 2006? There are a few details that don't match up. Headlights, taillights, headunit are from pre-2004 models and the cigarette lighter is on the right side where the passenger seatbelt warning light is supposed to be. :confused:

:D, Give your fiance enough time, my wife loved the Highlander until she rode and drove my 4Runner. If not, as the saying goes " there's plenty of fish in the sea!" :bouncy: JK

That definitely looks like a pre-2004 model -- that dark green color was replaced by a lighter "Oasis Green Pearl" in 2004. It's either a 2002 or 2003 (the center console was added in '02).

Also different: the dash trim and the shifter is missing the extra gear from the addition of the 5-speed auto.

I'm guessing the pics were for illustrative purposes only and not the actual vehicle? :)
 
I get the Highlander, actually a very nice vehicle. And I get the brush guard, good to have...

What I don't get is the brush guard on the Highlander...

After talking at length with Thai about this we've reluctantly decided to convert the forum into both a 4Runner and Highlander forum. Two reasons:

First, seeing as how the more fuel efficiet, car-based SUVs are the wave of the future in these times of high gas prices, we've decided that in an effort to keep this forum growing we should include our Highlander brothers and sisters.

Second and most importantly: Thai's fiancee has been getting on his case for spending so much time on this forum, and by includig the Highlander hopefully she won't mind as much.

This will not be a popular decision for some of you but it is final so please no whining about it (see forum rule #1).
 
highlander is also a good vehicle.

given the fact that camry is most popular sedan in us, it can not be wrong that highlander is an upgrade from popular sedan to suv.

by blending highlander and 4runner together in this forum. i believe it would make this forum with more diversity. it help would be highlanders switch to 4runner, and surely promote the debate between 4runner owners and highlander owners. it has been quiet between v6 and v8, we need more...more....

i am going to bring my neighbours here

:bash:Well, there goes the neighborhood. What's next, Rav4's? Just kidding.

For those who haven't made their purchase yet, this new format could be a good place to compare 4Runners and Highlanders and make an informed decision.

You gotta have something to bash carts at the grocery store. Still looks better than an Escalade with a brushguard.
