Outdoorlogic modular roof rack

Hi guys just wanted to give the heads up on a new roofrack that will be coming out by Outdoorlogic. In our prelim talks we agreed that we want a modular type roof rack that will have removable rails so that it is a basket and will also accomodate a roof top tent. The rack will be the full length of the vehicle and the portion over the sunroof will have a removable floor. If you guys have any other ideas or wishes please let me know so that I can relay the message. My vehicle will be dropped off on the 21st for the build.

Do you mean like this?

The back half of the top rail unbolts, allowing me to bolt the RTT onto the floor of the rack and still get into the garage. Perkins Performance already has a physical template and the original design measurements, which might save you some dough.

Yes, although it will look a bit different. Thanks for the info but since outdoorlogic is a local vendor I will be working with them, plus it will give future buyers more options.

*) Offer it in both full length and half length.
*) Optional light mounts front and rear
*) Optional wind deflector on front.
*) Accessory mounts for shovel, ax, Highlift jack, jerricans, etc.
*) Enough under rack clearance or removable screening to make hand washing/waxing easy.

Cross bars spaced out so you can put ski racks on without having to buy separate crossbars. Plus this will split the area up to give more tie down area for nets and gear. In away like the GOBI has them.

Awesome. Where are they located. Are they going to have wiring setup like the gobi? What will the weight be? I am thinking about purchasing one for my move from so cal to Oregon. Looking forward to this new rack.

They are located in Riverside. They are also looking for a 5th gen to do a prototype lucrum style winch plate for the stock bumper.

Swiss Army Roof Rack

So here is the almost completed roof rack. We are still playing with the design but wanted to get a little feedback.

First: The front face will have a removable wind deflector, behind the deflector there will be provisions for a 24'' Led light bar.

sides can be removed to create a flat top ( Roof top Tent)

rear will accept two rear rectangle lights

Going to bring the 5th Gen back in here for some test fitting...It should clear the sun roof. The RTT thing you mentioned is a good one. I just dont have an RTT handy to make those changes.. Thanks for the info I may be asking you more questions in a bit.

Jimmy, my rtt just arrived and can bring over the mounting hardware/rails/etc so that we can figure out how it mounts. The rtt I got is from cartop camper/mombasa.

I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I was curious how the RTT fitting/testing went.

To be honest, I had never considered (read: never even knew they existed) a RTT setup until I saw SeattleMike's. Now having the flattop option is a requirement for my rack purchase.

I will be dropping by ODL tomorrow with the rails to the rooftop tent for test fitting. We will know hopefully tomorrow what needs to be adjusted or re-arranged. Yeah that was my problem with some of the roofracks that are on the market. I need a flat rack for an RTT but also like the look and utility of the basket.

Being able to take off the side rails for a roof tent is a must on any rack that I will buy. We missed you at Bee Canyon run, hope to see you next time the SoCal group gets together. Maybe your rack will be on by then.
