Overheating; Small tubes under vehichle leaking. What are these things?

1999 4Runner, overheating: There are these two tubes (maybe 1/4"), on the passenger side, running under the vehichle all the way from somewhere in the engine compartment to the rear of the vehichle -- they have broken and/or have been punctured -- and are leaking profusely, and my truck overheated. (a) What are these tubes? What do they do? (b) Where can I find a parts diagram of the entire vehichle?

Sounds like the metal coolant lines for your rear heater core are leaking. Call the dealer and give them your VIN, they should be able to provide you with a diagram and prices on the lines.

A lot of people replace the stock metal rear heater lines with rubber hose. This is a pretty common problem, if you look around you can find some write-ups on replacing these lines.
