Overly tightened crankshaft bolt...

Hey guys, it's come to my attention that I've tightened my crankshaft bolt too much.. i read somewhere 217 but now realize it should'v been more like 187... is this bad? How bad?

Im assuming your referencing the harmonic balancer main bolt.
If it didn't break off or strip it should be fine. Just take it out and make sure it didn't stretch the bolt and then tighten to speck. The bolt will give out WAY before the crankshaft will and you would know if you broke the threads.

Over torqueing any fastener is a bad idea, especially if its beyond the yield point, plastic deformation occurs. The crank is something you don't want to play around with. Even a V belt that's too tight can prematurely unevenly wear out main bearings
