Fellow Mid-westerners.. hello!
New 4runner owner and new to Toyotas as well.
2012 limited in Blizzard that I want to make into a trail version.

Coming from a Ford F350 diesel... which has a lot of support/following around here.
I dont see many 4runners around here nor are there any used parts available etc.
Any one around here?
Any get togethers? parts options etc around?

Hey! I'm in St. Louis too. It seems like most of the 4runners I see around here are driven by women. I never see any nice modded ones
 
I’m in Wentzville. Yeah lots of 4Runners here but very few modded ones. Agree, many moms hauling kids. My wife is one [emoji16] but hopefully soon she will be hauling kids in a modded 4R!!

I was in Northern WI on vacation over Labor day and like every 5th car was a 4runner! Some modded some not.
I got the bug and put my truck up for sale. I too live very close to Wentzville.
Hoping to change the "no modded" ones also.

Any recommendations for a good shop in Chicagoland that can do a suspension install etc for me? I may not have time to do my own before some trips in July so wanted to do a little research and hopefully find a quality shop I can trust.

Check out the Northern Illinois off road group thread in the off roading section here. I’ll add you to our list for a more localized group.

I’d honestly price out some individual mechanics since it’s a pretty straight forward job. I priced out Contageous Customs in Crystal Lake and not only were they offering some horrible advice (obviously Jeep guys), but they told me to research parts and they’ll buy them (I’m sure at a nice markup for them). Then the install price was somewhere $800+. No thanks. I found a local mechanic who did the work for somewhere around $350 including alignment. Worth the money to me.

Likewise, well just south of the city. Just relocated after spending my whole life in SoCal.

I can never get pics to work, cannot seem to find a good pic host or I have just forgot how to do all of this forum stuff over the years. I have a mostly stock nothing special TRDOR.
