Hello All.
I'm pretty new to my 2001 4Runner SR5. While driving uphill yesterday the engine started to sputter. As I pulled over, the idling speed just dropped off and the engine cut out. When I started it back up it would fire, but then just cut out again. If I gave it some throttle, it would stay on, and I drove it home without too much trouble. Had to do the two-footed gas/brake technique to get it to still run when stopped at a light or stop sign, but otherwise it would run ok above 2000rpm. When I was almost home, the VSC TRAC and VSC OFF lights came on, as well as the check engine light. I borrowed a friends code reader, and it's telling me p171, p171 pd, and 1133. Any insights would be most helpful. I'm searching the forums, but thought I would post as well to cover the bases. Seems like a good place to start is the MAF sensor? Thanks in advance.
