P0171 and MAF Sensor Cleaning

So about a week ago I got a P0171 after my check engine light came on and after looking up possible causes I decided to clean the MAF sensor (since it was the easiest to check) even though it had been done about 10k miles ago. I tested the terminals of the MAF according to the repair manual and got a resistance of 1.72 while the ambient temperature was about 70 degrees F. I cleaned the sensor again and this time made sure to spray the terminals on the plug end this time. When I checked the MAF resistance again I got 2.17 which was just below the desired 2.2-2.6 range. I cleared out the code and have put 250 miles on without return of the check engine light so far. Anywho, I would recommend to anyone taking the time to clean their MAF sensor that they also clean the terminals on the plug of the MAF and hopefully avoid what I did.
