Looks like you guys are getting hammered with snow..... Be sure to take and post lots of pics! So far this winter the snowfall has been pretty disappointing down here in the southeast.
It's weird. Where I am right now, there's zero snow on the ground, but go a few miles North and they got pretty loaded with snow (for the area). Supposedly the next 24hrs are supposed to be interesting.
I live in Sherwood, Oregon (bout 15ish miles south of Portland) and at an elevation of about 150-200 feet we got little to no sticking snow. But once you got up to about 300 feet it started to stick. These images are from today at about 10:30am on a small mountain (Parrot Mountain) behind my house at about 1100 feet.
We are at the butt end of the same storm here in Montana. I am here at work for another hour and a half and it looks like I will thoroughly enjoy driving the 4runner home tonight! Whoooop! We have over a foot so far and should have another foot by Friday!
Today is a mess. Snow has turned into freezing rain. Combine that with all the hills and you've got people sliding around everywhere. I'm staying put today. Drove around yesterday and basically spent most of the day pulling people out. Can't believe what people thought they could drive in. Snowy roads? Sure, my RWD car will be just fine.
