Paint Defects

I have four quarter to silver dollar size paint defects around my door frame and lift gate (behind hydraulic arm). Appears to be a raised mess of clearcoat and paint.

Truck has less than 2k mi.

Anyone else have anything similar?

Are they on the external surfaces of the vehicle?

There have been several documented cases but out of a half million a few are to be expected.
Whenever I buy a new vehicle I always go over ALL painted surfaces (including door jambs and under hood) BEFORE I buy the vehicle. Due diligence and responsibility of end user.

With that said, take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. No problems except time in shop at your expense.

All four defects are in the jams of the doors and lift gate.

Never even crossed my mind to examine the jams. At least they're not exposed to the elements.

Got pics? If they aren't on an exterior surface I wonder if it would even be considered a defect. Is the steel exposed?

That's really weird... and you're sure it's clear coat and not something like a weird polishing compound that solidified?

Either way, I'd have the dealer look at it and document it...

It's as hard as the paint, but I'm not 100% sure what it is. I have spots in two jambs, the lift gate, and inside the gas door.

I would take it to the dealership, have them agree that its a paint issue, and then have it sent to a body shop of your choice for the repair. Do not let them "send it to their body shop", because it will end up worse than you started with.

Was there dealer applied paint sealer on your T4R? If so my bet is that is residual from the treatment. It should have been caught by the dealership or at the point of entry where the coating was applied...
