Paint Fender Flares

I would like to paint the black plastic fender flares that are on my 97 T4R. I actually want to paint them a semi-gloss black because they have become discolored over the years. Is it a good idea or am I waisting my time. Any feedback would be appreciated. Here are what they look like:

If they are old and a bit weathered it's doubtful the paint would last long since it won't adhere to the old plastic very well.

I hate the whitish dry look they get so I use Stoner's trim shine once a month to keep them as best they can look which is pretty decent. It's a spray and easy to rub into the plastic and lasts about a month even through a good rain or three.

I can't see anything wrong with them from the pictures. I was impressed with the effects Mother's back to black had on my trim which I imagine is about the same as the Stoner's trim shine. Definitely try one of these first. Plus I don't think a semi gloss black would go well with your color scheme. . . silver on the hand. . .
