paint letters under hood

You mean the VVTi & V6 letters on the engine block cover? But they're already painted a nice silver. What do you plan to do out of curiosity?

I was wiping down the engine bay of my SE last night. Since my paint is dark in the engine bay I was trying to imagine what it looked liked if the plastic block cover was silver with the center part black. I know it sounds strange but try to imagine an SE's silver trimmed shift knob color scheme but reversed for the cover. Be a nice contrast to the dark engine bay since mine is Shadow. Hmmm... As for the paint I would not know, but has to be tough to withstand all that heat.

I painted the letters right on my valve cover (aluminum) and sparkplug cover (plastic) on my modded '93 Eclipse using a brake caliper paint which is made for high temps. I sprayed a small puddle onto a piece of plastic and hand painted the lettering with a fine small tipped brush.

How about this.. I used a Dupli Color Aluminium with heat resistant paint.
