Paint scratching off

I noticed that I have a circle of paint that is coming off along the back column, were the tail gate rubber stops come into contact with the truck. I have a complete circle on one side and the other side has half of a circle. If no one else has this I will take my truck back to the dealer and have them fix the problem and paint. But if you guys have the same thing, then I will take it as normal wear and just place something there to stop the paint removal.

That is kind of what I thought and strangly hoping for. Did not want to deal with the dealer if I did not have to. I will begin to look for something to prevent further paint removal.

On other vehicles I've seen clear, protective plastic stickers where the bumpers touch the paint. Time to pick up some clear automotive film.


The rubbing looks severe. Maybe your tailgate alignment is off?

That's a good idea.. The rubbing does look severe. I looked at mine again, and also at my dad's, and no paint was coming off. You could see the marking of where it meets, but no paint has come off..

That is what I was worried about. I thought it looked to deep. So no one else has it this bad?
