So I've just washed my 2015 and have noticed a gritty feeling across the lower half of the paint compared to the smooth roof. Obviously this is from the road and it's hard to see but I don't like that it's there. Here's the deal. I don't have a buffer, I don't have any experience with waxes or clay bars. And I don't have 2-3 hours in a day to devote to doing it the BEST way with 2 toddlers and a baby. So what would be the best way to get that grit out and have it be smooth again?

I'd just give it a wash and then have at it with a clay bar, followed by a good waxing.

If you're taking more than ~30 minutes to clay bar the whole vehicle you're doing it wrong. A wax should take roughly the same amount of time.

Of course the BEST option would be getting rid of the baby.

Probably the only one on here who would pick my children over my 4Runner! Lol I love the vehicle and I'm so quick to be like aw wtf you spilled it!? And that's talking to my wife! Kids don't get anything that spills in it. I thought a clay bar was time consuming

How is it possible to clay wax an entire car in less than 30 minutes?

I'm actually interested in how you do it so fast? Are you doing it while its wet from washing it? I thought you had to use special lubricant you spray on sections at a time.

A good soapy base from a wash will work. Or a spray detailer.

But seriously, just mist it, wipe the clay til you don't feel the grit, wipe with a microfiber, and move on. Each panel should take a minute or two max.
