painted running board covers on limited

I have a 97 limited with the painted running boards. The corner of the boards (end caps) has the paint coming off. It looks really bad as it is a light gray under the paint. I have a shop that will paint them for $150. all 4 corners. But how do you remove the covers it apperars they are a seperate peice but I cant figure out how to remove them. any ideas?

the front end cap has one screw and two nuts you have to remove. the rear end cap only has two nuts.

I fixed this chipping but brushing on a little superglue to the area to seal it and to stop it from chipping back futher. Then I used touch up paint overtop of the superglue and it looks great.

Just a tip.

That would work, but oneside of mine is completly gone, and must be repainted.
