painting 4runner top

hello. i've got a black top on my runner. i spend a fair amount of time in the desert so considering painting white or beige to reduce heat. is there a special type of paint or coating that i should use to do this properly?
otherwise, anyone want to trade tops? black for white or beige?

It's just fiberglass... I imagine any paint would work...
