Painting emblems...

I know there have been a lot of threads on this subject already, but I couldn't find one that answered my specfic questions, so I'm making yet another thread...

I'm thinking about painting my front and rear toyota emblems. My first question, if I paint them with spray paint (I have plasti-dip, but I don't want them black) would there be any way of restoring them to their chrome look if I didn't like it, or wanted to put it back more stock one day? Would paint thinner work, or would it ruin the chrome?

Second question- What type of paint would you reccomend? And what process should I taking in prepping the emblems? As far as paint, I have the idea to paint them a shinny/metalic light purple, so they wouldn't look dull next to the chrome bumper. Think it would work?

Thanks so much in advance, I really apprecaite any help. =)

Plastidip them first and then spray paint over that. I've got a buddy with a WRX who did that with his wheels. Not exactly sure how hard it would make to peel off, but its still reversible.

I actually thought about that! But like you said, I'm not sure how hard it would be to take it off, don't know if the spray paint would change the chemical compounds of the plasti dip or something.

Okay, apparently they make a ton of different colors, even purple! Have to find out where to buy it now...

Plasti Dip International

*Corretion* they have a kit I guess where you can create your own colors, still pretty cool I guess.

im also going to do the sides at some point. i have a paint matched grill so i think that the clear on the emblems is a cool way of getting rid of all the chrome and making it look paint matched
