Painting Grille Black?

Anyone done it? I can't stand the chrome anymore. Thinking to paint it black or white to match. What do you guys think? Pics help! I'm leaning towards black and mesh modding.

I did it to mine but i just painted the whole thing gloss black with hi temp paint until i refinish it with the mesh insert. no recent pics but i recommend stripping the chrome layer before painting...its a pain in the ass but allows for the best homebrewed finish you could ask for

color match dude... black is lame unless your truck is black...

I wanna ditch my chrome too but I'm looking to buy another imperial jade 99 4runner sr5 4wd w/ locker (hopefully highlander) so I'm waiting. once I get the other one, I'm swapping over what I want and I'll probaby have my current grille painted green for the new truck.

Wow, I'm surprised at this outcome! I thought for sure people would say black. I have been through most of the threads that pertain to modding your grille, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion on the color match or black thing. Definitely still mesh modding, similar to what LINY did. My wife said black which surprised me too. I guess I'm gonna have to think on this one for a little bit!

do it with black primer...if you like it, hit it with some gloss black, if not, hit it with your color code
