Painting/Plasti dip emblems

hey guys is there a way to take off the emblems on the side of the runner and get them back on? (SR5, 4wd those emblems) and on the back hatch, is there a way to get that Toyota emblem off? Do you just glue them back on or what? :thanks:

You should just paint them with real paint if you're going to go through the steps of taking them on and off.

Yeah I should've added that.

If you are full-on painting them, take them off first.

If you are plasti-dipping... simply mask off a rectangle around the emblem you want to paint, and spray away (yes... on the car paint too). Once it dries, you can peel off the plasti-dip that got on the car paint without peeling off the plasti-dip on the emblem. Very easy.

You peel it off. Pretty simple. Just watch out for overspray.

youtube is wonderful. Just type in removing plasti-dip, you will see

I went through the same decision process as you and ended up plasti-dipping my emblems black. Plasti-dip is cheap, easy to use, durable and best of all if you dont like it you can peel it off and it will be back to chrome! Use a piece of mig wire between a pair of vice grips. Then scuff them with red scotch brite (any auto store should have it) Paint the name plates with single stage paint or SEM BLACK (spray paintcan)
