Painting the BRAKE CALIPERS???

I painted mine a while back. it is pretty easy. Just use aluminum foil to mask off the rotors and everything else. It works great because it will form around everything. Here is a post on yotatech about painting them. I was originally going to paint them red, but chickened out at the last minute. I ended up painting them black, as you will see. I have now been thinking about repainting them silver or maybe even going red. I am just worried the red will be too flashy.

I think it took about half a day of total work. I was painting the calipers and doing some other stuff around the house while I was letting them dry. It helps having a floor jack and jacks stands. I have been wanting to go back and paint the hubs. as you will see on the yotatech post, my hubs have sub rust, so I want to sand them down and paint'em either silver or black. If I could ever get a freak'n break I could get some of this stuff done. The way things are looking, my weekends are pretty much screwed until May...........:dammit:

tires rotated. I dont know if they are going to charge me.

I dont have any jack and what not. If they dont charge me
out the ass I might get them to do it. If they do want to
charge me an arm and a leg I will ask Brian for some help.

Yeah, I painted front and back. I jacked up one side, did the front and back, then did the other side. While I had the tires off, i went ahead and polished the rims, inside & out, as well as rotated the tires. If I could ever get some time, i would invite you over and we could do it, but getting the time is the problem. i want to see what they will look like red, in person.

I painted mine black as well. I have a Titanium sport 03. I just masked off the hoses and such behind the calipers. Then I sanded the hubs and painted everything. I did not worry about masking the discs because the paint the will just get burned off anyway. Make sure that you use the high temp paint. Mine was rated for something like 1200 F.
The length of the job depends on how anal you are. It took me a while because I wanted the hubs to be completely free of rust. I then got some rubbing alcohol and wiped everything down. If you don't, the paint won't stick!!! Trust me!! I would say that it took me about two hours total time. I was playing around with other stuff while I waited for the stuff to dry. Good luck!!
