Painting the interior plastic parts?

I was wondering, is it possible to paint/spray the plastic interior parts? parts such as the center piece where there are 2 cupholders and the odd bucket? also the plastic piece around the steering wheel? and around the key ring? (its all scratched up back there from keys). mostly its just all the black parts on the truck that i would do.

is there a special paint? because i know regular spray paint probaly would not work. i would guess it would heat up in the summer and crack and peel.

This has to be the most worthless mod I've ever read about. The guy is nearly finished with that massive project and then it gets traded in! I guess that's why you shouldn't mod something you don't own! At least he used the right product. Duplicolor Vinyl Color is the best interior paint I've used and it is exceptionally durable if you prep it right.

yeah gotta agree with you there having a black interior is no where near worth the effort imo.............

but you have to admit it does look nice, and it's kinda cool to have something different, i suppose if i didn't have a job,a girl, responsibility , life, or anything to do in general, i might give it a shot but i'd rather be at the lake if that was the case.. lol

wow i looked over that post, it looks really nice, but i dont think i could find time to do all that, however my interior grey is starting to look kinda blueish/purplish in a way. just gunna do the black parts for now and maybe black doorhandles. do i have to sand anything down?

These pictures didn't turn out so great but today I primered and painted the main dashboard and the console. I need to wet sand and add another coat of paint before reinstalling it into the car. I'll take better pictures tomorow.

beyond that i cant comment you might want to try a few test pieces first and read the directions

You do not need to sand or primer anything before spraying it. You should wash the parts in warm soapy water and use a nylon brush to clean out the textured surfaces. Let it dry and wipe it down with alcohol. Just make sure you set the pieces to be painted on a clean surface and don't touch any cleaned piece with your bare hands.
