One of my pet peeves with my truck is worn/faded trim for some reason. I think it really detracts from the look of the truck, it's worse than messed up paint to me. I recently painted my windshield cowl and it came out great, I'll be doing the w/w arms soon as they're starting to look a little rough. I'll be getting my paint detailed in the spring so it'll be looking good soon. The only thing left that's really bugging me is the rubber/plastic trim. It stands out as an eyesore to me and I'm determined to do something about it. I've researched a lot of the "back to black" type products and I want something more permanent. I found a video on youtube from a company that does it to used cars for dealers to increase the value of used cars. My concern is that it's a temporary fix that starts to look like crap within a few weeks but at that point the car is sold so what does the dealer care. I plan on using an aerosol trim/plastic paint. I've been googling all over the webz looking for answers but can't find any. Does anyone have any idea if the trim pieces pictured below would respond well to being painted or would it just flake off?
