From fellow South Carolinian, that is new to 4runners, sweet ride. If you do decide to take the skid plate off I would love to buy it. I also agree the SC Runners need to meet up.

Carolina fan, I'm still up in the air about the skid plate... don't know if I want to get rid of it, keep it, paint it, who knows. I would like some extra cash from it for other mods thats for sure!
Anyways I got real bored with photobucket (there is a surprising amount of editing you can do for an internet photo hosting site) last night and decided to work on some "what if" mods.
List includes:
Plasti-Dipped emblems (in progress as I type)
Clear corners, and turn signals
LED lights in retrofitted headlights
Skid plate delete
Lemme know what you guys think, never thought I would want clear corners but I kinda like the look.
Also here are some in progress Plasti-Dip pics... (neighbors probably think I'm on crack)

If you are on the fence about doing this (like I was) I say do it. It only cost me 6 bucks at Home Depot and you can always peel it off if you decide you don't like it.
IMHO I think it cleans up the back of the truck nicely, especially on the 99+ models as I don't really like the badging placement. I need some LED tails now!

De-accessorized.
Took the front sport skid and hitch receiver off today, kinda leaning on going with the shackles and I don't use the hitch anyway.
and pretty much the same shot from the previous post...
Only problem is I lost my t4r.org and toytec decals.

Nice work! Too bad about the Skid plate though...I was hoping to join both you and Ripcord in the "Sport Edition skid plate club"! HA HA HA! I just made a deal with Bandit Runner for his old skid plate!

They look awesome! But on my most recent offroad trip, I found that it was limiting my clearance. I actually hit it on a rock and bent it up a bit.
If it weren't for that reason, I would keep it for sure.

Not sure if I'm going to sell it yet... now that its off it looks a little naked, but maybe that is just because I'm not used to it. Might try and figure out a way to mount it up a little higher, at the same time I'm kinda itchin' for some shackles.
I figure the best way would be RonMaidens method but then you'd still have trouble with fitting shackles. Doesn't seem as if having both is going to be an option.

Got some shots this evening. Decided to put the hitch back on as I didn't like staring at the spare, and it offers a little more protection.
I'm hoping to get the lift on in the next month... we will see how that goes though.

Looks great! I love your TRD decals.
I don't think I will ever take off my hitch for that reason.

Looking good man! I also love your TRD decals! BTW, what the heck are you waiting for?? Get that lift on bro! HA HA HA! Just foolin man! I just couldn't wait that long! My new lift spent all of a week in my garage before I cracked and had to install it!

As of now its moolah for shocks (and trying to figure out which freakin' ones I want haha). My birthday is this month so maybe I'll get lucky and find myself with some expendable funds. :bluejump:

Welp the birthday was kind to me and I now have Rancho 9000xl's on their way to my house, will definitely post pictures when the lift gets installed. :tongue:
Also as soon as I get my skid plate sold (already have a buyer) I'll be ordering either shackles or led tails... what would you choose? Shackles are the easy choice as it will pretty much be a straight trade with the skid money, while the tails will cost more upfront but I can always sell my old ones. Decisions decisions.
Anyone looking for some 02 tails? Might make my decision easier.
