Panhard crooked/bent/curved? pics..

never really noticed till i took this picture recently and was going through my album but is everyone else's pandhard like this?
seems a little crooked? i wonder if its the photo angle??
ill have to double check but wnated to know if this is normal and also if its not then wtf?! haha should i replace it?

im assuming panhards arent cheap either..

If you dont want to spend the 200 on a aftermarket panhard shot me a PM I have a spare stock one kicken around I can sell for cheap.

Looks bent. Looks like some one tied it down on a tow truck using the Pan hard bar.

ya that would explain it, theres no way it would bend like that just from normal use.

How important is it to keep it straight?
If shipping doesn't work out with above member I might have to wait till I can scrap one down here. But it's going to be really hard cause finding any part in hawaii is hard haha
**** I'm thinking if it's okay run it like that for now till I can find a bar.
I have no idea how long it's been like that.

Any other ideas how it happened?

dont worry too much bud this is nothing, all its does is move your axle over to the right about 1cm you can barely see or feel the difference, if it was me i'd just leave it like that

I agree, it's not that big of a deal, and I doubt it could have bent that way oofroading, Have hit mine on rocks before, and the only way it could really bend form thatnis upwards.

I would replace it, but until then inspect the bolts and the mounts. Whatever caused it, if it torqued the bar that much, it could have bent the mount or one of the bolts. If a bolt breaks or loosens and falls out, it's dangerous.

If I come across a junkyard runner with a good panhard I'll let ya know...shipping from the Big Island would be wayyy cheaper than from the mainland. haha

Well, I wouldn't worry about your panhard breaking, but if you lost a bolt and the bar fell out, you could loose control or flop if you're turning a hard corner. I agree with Gerdo, just straighten it and makes sure it's nice and tight and you'll be good.

To bend it back do you mean just hammer it back straight? Haha
With it off I'm thinking maybe weld on some braces to make it stronger? Or is that a bad idea? Haha

You know i would just bend it back straight and take some angle iron and weld it on the panhard as a brace

Not sure if you understood this but he's not saying to move it over. He's saying that the bend in the bar moves your axle over. The panhard locates your axle under your truck.

Bend it back however you can...hammer, heat, or both but the angle iron idea seems the easiest to add the strength back afterwards and a good test to see if it's actually straight.

Maybe it got bent from the boat ride over. Maybe they tied it down by the pan hard bar.

If it was me, I would take the bottle jack from under the seat and jack the bar back into place. I would worry about getting it welded unless it bends back super easily or if kinks or creases up. It is pretty thick tubing and should with stand the bend back.

Sorry to hi-jack, but how do you like the airlift bags in the rear springs? I am considering them for mine just to keep the back end up while towing a trailer.
