Panhard help.

Yesterday i was driving back from skiing and noticed an abnormal amount of rear wobble and a clunking noise. Low and behold I get out, look at the rear axle, and my panhard isn't attached (bolt missing) where it connects to the rear axle. I have 8wrap LC's and no extension, so do you think it sheared or I didn't re-tighten it enough when I installed my lift (5months ago).

Most importantly, what are the dimensions and grade for a replacement bolt?

How hard is it to get that bolt out ...if easy I'll pull mine and get you a new one for free ...

Maybe you just didnt tighten it back up all the way but I would guess its time for an extension of some sort if you're running 8 wraps, if nothing else you'll get a hell of a lot more enjoyable ride out of it.

I would get a drop bracket from toytec.

When you do a lift the size of an 8 wrap, all of the geometry back there is messed up quite a bit. The upper and lower links don't line up as well, axle gets shifted over about an inch and a half to the passenger side due to the panhard bar. The drop bracket can help to fix this geometry a nice bit.

Edit: this would also come with the extra bolt you needed. 2 birds, 1 stone.

4-ripcord, thanks for the link. Originally people said I didn't need one, but I think I'll get it anyways. I do need something before the drop kit arrives because it's a pretty squirrely ride.

Jason, you don't want your panhard attached? I'm going to call up nix99 and see if they have one, but if not, I might look your way for help. Thanks for the offer.

You did not shear the bolt. The panhard and the mount on the axle will rip apart before you shear the bolt. You didn't lock-tite the bolt when you put it on? Mine loosened up and made banging noises when I didn't put lock-tite on them.

BTW, it is extremely bad to be driving without a panhard. You are basically twisting the joints of the LCA's and UCA's. Very unsafe. Stop driving it until you get the panhard attached.

Also, I would get and use and a Toyota original bolt. The pic of the toytec kit appears to just be a grade 10 metric bolt. I would trust the Toyota bolt before the Grade 10. I am always suspicious when the threads of a bolt are being sheared (like the Toytec bolts are, don't recall if the Toyota threads are, probably are too). I am 100% certain that Toyota has done more testing that Toytec has on to make sure the bolt has had the correct treatment for the application.

part number is 90105-12288, nut is 94622-31200. Should be about $5 for both.

If you end up getting the bracket, then you should probably make some gussets for it and have them welded on, I have read of a guys breaking their brackets off if they didn't gusset them.

BUT BUT BUT... 94622-31200 Is the part number for the washer NOT The nut. I was upset that I had to wait another day for Toyota to also order the nut.

Could you please edit that so fellow member don't have to stare at their truck in the driveway for another day. ��������
