Hello all. I've been getting information from this site for years during the build-up of my 4runner (which never seems to end :)). Below are the pictures I took of it at my latest camping trip in the Coconino National Forest (near Flagstaff, AZ). Thanks to all of you for your write ups, pictures and posts as they have helped shaped what I've done with my 4runner.

Very nice! I can not say anything but good things about your runner. I like the way everything seems to blend together nicely. Good job! May I ask what's next?
 
Love that Shrockworks front bumper. Particularly love the one close-up pictures that shows how uniform and even the gap is - looks really OEM. Did you install it yourself?

Overall, another very nice looking 4R!

Thanks proudrunner, up next is a ViAir system, a rear locker, and if I get a little crazy this "fire truck" air horn. I think I'll put a switch on the air horn so I can turn it off if I just need a little honk.

Nope, Steve Schafer (at SonoranSteel.com) installed the bumper. There is a bit of welding/cutting on the front frame rails that needs to be done to install the Shrockworks bumper. I do not posses the tools, skill or the patience to do such a task. With the writeups here I have done a few small projects so as my confidence/skills grow hopefully I'll be able to do bigger projects later on.

Thanks Qyota. If you end up ordering a shrockworks bumper ask them to give you an honest time frame on the delivery. It took over 6 months from the time I ordered my bumper until it shipped. They were moving facilities at the time so that may have been part of the delay... but they told me 8 to 10 weeks and when I called at 10 weeks they told me another month... then they didn't answer a couple emails and finally I called again to hear about more delays. If they've fixed their production delays and upgraded their customer service I'm sure they would sell more of these. The bumper is great and I'm glad I have it but the way they handled everything was poor.

Steve installed mine as well. It was the first Shrockworks bumper he installed. We had fun that day trying to get that dang thing into place.

The 4runner looks good :thumb3:. If your looking for a rear bumper CBI is releasing a new rear bumper for the 4runner.
 
i think that bumper looks terrible would look much better on mine :D looks real nice some day i wanna get bumpers for mine

Absolutley stunning. VERY well done.
I am simply amazed at how modern our 14+ year old truck design still looks to this day. There is simply no reason to dump a perfectly good 3rd gen for anything newer. That bumper is really amazing. Functional and gorgeous.
By the way, I have been to the CNF. Beautiful place. A buddy hosted a weekend long pig roast and it was simply gorgeous during the day, followed by a snowstorm at night that turned to torrential rain. Turned out we were camped in a dry creek bed. Good times.
Come to mention it, My buddy hauled all of his pit and gear up there from Tempe in a T-100. And I drove up with another buddy in a new Tacoma. This was all before I had even considered buying my 4Runner (1998ish).
Arizona seems to be Toyota country!
Anyway, sorry for the rambling thoughts.

But let's say for example you wanted to swap out your grill -would there be enough room to clear the Shrockworks vertical support bar?

Sometimes pictures are deceiving but it looks so close to the front end.
