Parking Break Dashlight Troubles

I have a 98 sr5 and the parking break light on the dash for some reason stays on now even when the parking break is not engaged. It sometimes goes off, but will come back on minutes later. Is there any particular reason for this or what?

I had the same problem with an old toyota of mine. my brake fluid was low. It looked fine when i opened the cap, but apparently toyota censors are weird because i put about 3 table spoons of fluid in and the problem went away.

I wouldn't add brake fluid until after I replaced the brakes. If after replacement it is still low then I would add.

DEL34, I would see if you need front brake pads (which would cause the fluid to be low, which would cause the dash dummy light to come on)
