Parrot Bluetooth Car Kit

OK I know there was a previous thread concerning the parrot car kit and issues with installing it with the factory HU. No one seems to be able to get the mute to work for the HU. It seems like there would have to be some way to get it to work with the NAV HU due to the fact that Voice Navigation mutes the stereo when it is giving you guidence. It seems like it would have to connect to a mute wire of some kind when it connects from the NAV computer. In case its not obvious I really want one of these car kits.

No personal experience as I am still using one of the parrot "Plug 'n' Drive" kits, but looking at this it appears that CN2901 pin 6 might be what you are looking for..........

Thanks JLB, doesn't get much more detailed than that. One more question, which mute wire would it most likely be calling for, the one that goes into the HU or the one that goes out of the HU?

I would suspect the mute in, but as I said I have not tried to make this work yet. It is something that I have been meaning to do, but the Plug 'n' Drive kit is working well enough for me for now.

Thorton,
Hey man, I am in Lex too. I just got an 05 Sport V8 about 2 months ago. I have the stock Single Disc JBL sound system. I have the ck3100, and I called Circuit City here the other day. I am supposed to take it by here on Wednesday to have them look at installing it. There is stuff I have seen suggesting that you can use extra harness to create a relay without cutting directly into the factory wiring harnesses. Someone else here got their moto kit to work with the mute feature, but not transfer the sound to the speakers like it is supposed to. Let me know if you find anyone around town that can/is willing to install it. I have installed bluetooth kits in my vehicles before, but this one is much more complex than any I have ever used before. Good to see you on the boards. We have several members here in Lex, and we ought to get a meet together at some point.

No kidding, small world huh? Yeah I read the post you had earlier about the parrot and the moto. I have been several places here in Lex trying to find somewhere that sells them, but I haven't tried Circuit City. I would just like to have a definitive answer about whether it will work before I pay $200 for it, and if not I will most likely go for the moto. Keep me posted on any breakthroughs you have and I will do the same for you.

It will work. I know that. The question is, can you get it to work through the sound system? I know a guy who just had one of these installed in Boston area in an 03 Camry w/ JBL Nav and they used some kind of relay system with it. I am trying to get the phone number of the place and see if they can tell me how they did it. If I find out how to do these, we may have to put our heads together to actually get it installed correctly. I will continue to keep you updated. Circuit Cit doesn't sell the units, no place in Lex does. I bought my from www.expansys-usa.com. I have bought alot of high end electronics from there and they are GREAT! Also, they offer pretty good tech support too. You can email the US guy from Parrot, and he is pretty good about giving updates to installation processes. I was talking to him several times after I purchased my 05 and at that time, they did not know of a direct solution. So, you find out anything else, get back with me.
