Parts list for Injector replacement and Valve cover gaskets

Hello there. I had an injector go bad on me so I am planning on taking off the throttle body and intake to replace it. While im in there, i was going to replace my valve cover gaskets because they are leaking a bit.

I have heard of people re-using the gaskets connecting the upper and lower intake manifolds together. Is this the norm or should i replace them.

What else to I need to get to do the valve cover gaskets other than the gaskets themselves?

So far this i what i have listed.
O rings for each injector (x6) 90301-07024 $2.30
Upper intake gasket 17176-62040 $8.70
Lower intake gasket 17176-62040 $8.70
valve cover gaskets 11213-62020 and 11213-62020 $18 each
Spark plug tube gasket (x6) 11193-16010 $2.40 each

I am planning or removing all 6 injectors and sending them to WitchHunter performance for cleaning and testing.

WHY?

In your post you don't mention any type of injector issues ... So if you don't have a misfire or CEL then what is the benefit in messing with or touching your injectors?

My injectors are running strong (knock-on-wood) at 217k miles. There is no regularly scheduled maintenance (be it 100k, 200k or 300k) for your injectors. All you need to do is buy decent gas and run some fuel system cleaner with a fill up every 5k-10k miles.

Assuming your engine doesn't have a known injector problem right now, it is probably a good idea to leave them ALONE.

I had an injector go bad on me

Yes I have a bad injector in cylinder 2. Been throwing p0302 and p0300 all month. Took it to my mechanic who drove it for a few days and confirmed that it is the injector. Quoted me over $800 to replace the injector and valve cover gaskets.

Im not afraid of tearing into the engine, so i figured I could save about $600 by doing it myself.

If i have the injectors out, why not send them to be cleaned?

Check to see if your rear cam plugs are leaking. Use a few dabs of fipg on the valve cover, don't forget the washer seals for valve cover bolts

And I do believe you want all the Injector o-rings and maybe the spacers. I cant recall If they're used on our engines?

OP- I have changed my injectors out a few times, and done the valve cover gaskets twice in a day (a friend and I helping eachother).

It's $22/injector. Witchhunter does a great job. Includes before and after testing and what not.

When ever I do valve cover gaskets I don't torque em down just go untill they feel right. But it is important to keep it all somewhat the same on every bolt. You also forgot might as well do the intake manifold gaskets as well not plenun, people mistake these for the same thing.

also might want to replace the little wiring sub harness for your knock sensor while you have it apart. It pretty much rests on the block and over heats.and will fry eventually, but that is all up to you. I think its about 40 or so

No you do not remove it...but since you have it all apart why not just do it?

I see, the knock sensors and harness are under the intake manifold so to replace the harness, I need to take off the intake manifold and replace the gaskets.

Intake manifold gaskets are $35 each and the knock sensor harness is $23.
Not sure I want to add an extra $100 on to this project, whole point was to keep it cheap.

Gotta draw the line somewhere or I will be rebuilding the whole engine before I know it.

Probably going to skip on those (unless you all highly recommend it).

I called which hunter today and they supply new new o-rings (pn 90301-07024) for the injector and new insulating grommets (pn 90480-13005) as well.
