Hi there - First post here. 2 time T4R owner.
I recently bought an '03 V8 Sport to replace an '06 V8 Sport, both are 2wd, sunroof, titanium color, JBL sound - basically very similiar except for the '06 upgrades.
The '06 has become an insurance fatality and I actually have the opportunity to 'swap' out some parts. I have been researching to find out compatibility, but am still a little unsure.These are the items I would like to swap and the issues I am facing:
JBL HU and possibly the sub/amp
- Issue I think I will have are that I will have to take the entire dash trim as well... It looks like it would fit and according to to a parts catalog it looks like I could do it - I would also swap the ashtry for the dish thing, since I dont smoke... Thoughts?
Manual seats for electric
- It looks like there is a standard wiring harness under there, but will it control 8 and 4 way seats? Also, I had airbags on the '06 - would they work? Thoughts on compatibility are appreciated
Rear hatch
- It looks like an identical match. There is a wiring harness and a tube for the washer. Anyone ever done this? Would there be issues?
Sunroof?
- This is probably too much to ask, BUT the '03 has rust through along the front lip of the roof (the part that contains the glass and moves). Did not notice until after purchasing. In looking at a parts catalog it seems like it would be impossible to just purchase that part... which is why I would like to swap it if possible. The entire bracket is $1000+
Any thought from anyone who has attempted any of these or has expertise, would be highly appreciated!
